The Equality Network interviewed 25 LGBT community organisations. The full report can be downloaded here.
In early 2009, the Equality Network surveyed the LGBT community sector in Scotland and with your help, this information can build a stronger, better resourced LGBT sector, better able to meet the needs of the communities it serves. Twenty-five organisations were interviewed and the findings provide a useful snapshot of the sector and its needs at this time.
Scotland’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community groups and organisations have been at the core of LGBT communities from the foundation of our modern day rights movement. From organising demonstrations and lobbying for legal equality; to the production of groundbreaking research and information, our community groups have led the way. Community groups were there fighting for an equal age of consent, building alliances to topple section 28, winning hearts and minds to achieve civil partnerships and overcoming prejudice to win gender recognition.
