The Gay Gordons Edinburgh is Scotland’s first LGBT Scottish Country Dance group.
There have been Gay Gordons groups in London and Manchester for a few years already. They have many members and have weekly evening dance sessions all year round, so it is about time Scotland had its own LGBT Scottish Country dance group. All ages and levels of experience are welcome, from beginners to experienced Scottish Country dancers. Come and experience the fun and laughter of Scottish Country dancing, with the freedom to dance with partners of the same sex, in the home country of the dances.
Gay Gordons Edinburgh first term begins Oct 19th 2009, and then every Monday for 9 weeks until December 14th 2009.
TIME - 7.30pm to 9.30pm every Monday.
VENUE - Quaker Meeting House, 7 Victoria Terrace (near Grassmarket), Edinburgh EH1 2JL.
COST - £3 per session or £25 for the first 9 week term. (We are a not-for-profit community group. The small cost is to cover the hall rental and tutor fee)
We have a gay Scottish Country dance tutor (Tim Bolton-Maggs) who will run the evenings and also give tuition on how to do the dances and steps.
