Daisy Street Law and Money Advice Centre is set up by Castlemilk Law Centre which is the oldest law centre in Glasgow. Daisy Street Law and Money Advice Centre is part of the South East Glasgow Community Legal & Advice Service network.

Discrimination Project

The Discrimination Project is based in Daisy Street Law and Money Advice Centre and funded by the Equality and Human Rights Commission.

Discrimination on the following grounds is unlawful:
1) Age
2) Disability
3) Gender Reassignment
4) Race, Colour, Nationality or Ethnic origins
5) Religion or Religious or Philosophical Belief
6) Sex
7) Sexual Orientation
8) Pregnancy and Maternity leave
9) Marriage or Civil Partnership


How can the Discrimination Project help?

The aim of the Discrimination Project is to promote social justice and equality and directly challenge discrimination and prejudice and see redress for individuals.
• By giving FREE legal advice to individuals living in South East Glasgow and the surrounding area who are facing discrimination in the workplace regarding their employment rights.
• By giving FREE legal advice to individuals living in South East Glasgow and the surrounding area who have experienced discrimination elsewhere, for example while being served in a shop, or attending a concert.
• By providing FREE representation in the Employment Tribunal and Sheriff Court, consequently enabling individuals to gain compensation.
• The Project will concentrate on discrimination in the workplace, but will not be restricted to that. Where possible we shall also address discrimination in the supply of services, public functions, access to premises, education and associations and other areas of day to day life.
• We also provide and arrange training for organisations and individuals to highlight the existence of anti-discrimination legislation and raise awareness of the developments in discrimination law and provisions of the Equality Bill.
