Including disabled and minority ethnic LGBT people is a FREE one day training event aimed at helping LGBT groups and organisations to become more inclusive and accessible.
Research conducted and commissioned by the Equality Network shows the real difficulties both
disabled LGBT people and
minority ethnic LGBT people face when trying to get involved in community groups and organisations. Involving LGBT people in groups and organisations needn’t take huge amounts of change but small changes can make a world of difference.
The
2009 sector survey carried out by the Equality Network highlighted the key challenges and needs of the LGBT sector in Scotland. When asked the areas of information or training that organisations would find useful, over 60% identified that getting people involved was a priority area.
This day is aimed at any LGBT organisation or group in Scotland, or groups who provide services, information or support to LGBT people. The day will be split into two sessions, one looking specifically at disabled inclusion the other at minority ethnic inclusion. If you are interested in knowing more about the training or would like to book a place contact

Places on this course are FREE, and travel bursaries are available. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
