Same-sex hand holding (Sshh): Our silent revolution
You don't have to fight to change the world. Promote love and equality by the simple act of holding hands.

It's going to be big, because of you.

This campaign's aim is to INSPIRE and SUPPORT same-sex couples who want to hold their partner's hand in public.
"...when you're trying just to be thought of as a human being, the smallest victories feel like huge ones."
Holding hands with your partner, where you can, is about being true to yourself and to those you love. This is not a protest, a rally, a Pride or a march. This is about you and the life you lead every day. We can do this.
A Day in Hand supports people to publicly hold hands across the globe.
The project heralds a revolutionary way of making the world a fairer place: a revolution in which anybody, on any day, can be a part of.
Same-sex love is here to stay. Let's mark the occasion and tell the world.
How to take the day in hand in 3 steps:
1) Find someone of the same sex that you love, respect, or admire.
2) Put your hand in their hand.
3) Step outside
optional 4) Take a photo of the two of you holding hands and send it to info@adayinhand.com for inclusion in the Hand Made Quilt.
A Day In Hand founder David Watkins says, "Equal rights are a necessity but we need equal respect too. When push comes to shove…love. Hand holding is a simple, liberating gesture that is essential to our communities’ health. I want the campaign to give all people good reason to hold hands everyday, and tools to fight those voices inside our heads that say we can’t do this. We can!”
We want Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans people to be a part of the cultural landscape of all outdoor spaces.
This is a silent revolution because nothing needs to be said: no war of words, no impassioned speeches, no organised rallies. Simply hold hands.
This is not a campaign for couples only. It's for anybody who has ever believed that love has no exceptions.
Every time you hold hands with the person you love, you give those who believe in a better world... hope.
Every time you hold hands with the person you love, you give those who would criticise and accuse a dose of reality.
Homophobes are drops in the ocean. Every time you hold hands, you become the ocean.
