Bored of hearing sexist jokes? Worried about a friend’s behaviour? Feel like you need super strength to stand up and speak out?

You don’t have to be a superhero to speak out – but you can get SAVI.

8th September 2011, 2pm-5pm
Quaker Meeting House, Edinburgh

Most of us aren’t ok with sexism and homophobia, but many of us lack the confidence, knowledge or skills to challenge it. We may not be perpetrators or victims of gender based violence, but we are often silent bystanders.

The GET SAVI (Students Against Violence Initiative) programme will give silent bystanders the skills and confidence to stand up and speak out against all forms of gender based violence and abuse.

Scottish Women’s Aid is proud to be co-ordinating this programme  for students alongside LGBT Youth, Rape Crisis Scotland, White Ribbon Scotland and Zero Tolerance.

With the support of NUS Scotland and EUSA, we will be piloting the programme at Edinburgh University and will launch the resources in March. We have designed this programme so that you can use it within your own college or university and be part of a movement to end all forms of gender based violence.

If you are in further or higher education and would like to know more about how your college or uni can GET SAVI, email Ellie (ellie.hutchinson@scottishwomensaid.org.uk) as together, we can stop it.

Funded by the Scottish Government and developed by the Equality Network, supported by LGBT Youth Scotland and Stonewall Scotland
