Whilst the Catholic Church and the Church Of Scotland continue to oppose the proposed equal marriage consultation, representatives from 5 faith groups have backed the Scottish Governments proposal following a conference held at the Scottish Youth Parliment offices in Edinburgh yesterday.

Members from the Unitarians, Liberal Jews, Quakers, the Metropolitan Community Church and the Pagan Federation believe that the current ban on equal marriages compromises individuals religious freedom and that there is 'no single Chrisian or
religious view' on this issue.
