Matthew Waites, Lecturer in Sociology, University of Glasgow

Matthew's research interests are in sexualities and genders in global, UK and Scottish contexts, particularly in sociology, politics and socio-legal studies; lesbian; gay' bisexual; transgender and queer issues, politics and theories; human rights, international law and global governance; the Yogyakarta Principles and the Declaration of Montreal; international/transnational LGBTQ and human rights movements and non-governmental organisations; youth and childhood, especially in relation to criminal law, sex offences and the age of consent; feminism; the UK Commission for Equality and Human Rights; equality and diversity.
