In 2009 an Anti-Homsexuality Bill was proposed to the Ugandan parliament. This Bill, sometimes referred to as the Anti-Gay Bill, imposes life imprisonment as the minimum penalty for homosexuality, includes the death penalty for some sexual acts, and creates a criminal offense for the prosecution of anyone who discovers another person's illegal sexual orientation and does not then report LGBT people to the authorities.
