There are no upcoming events
We’re very happy to report that the Scottish Youth Parliament (SYP) met at the weekend to choose their national campaign for this year, and chose Marriage Equality – to allow same-sex couples to marry, and extend civil partnerships to heterosexual couples.
This campaign will be the main focus of the SYP’s political activity until March 2012. You can read more on the SYP website here:
In the Scottish Parliament, SNP MSP Marco Biagi (Edinburgh Central) lodged a motion welcoming the SYP’s decision:
The motion has so far been supported by SNP MSPs Bob Doris, Rob Gibson, Mike MacKenzie, Kevin Stewart, David Torrance and Maureen Watt, Labour MSP John Park, and Green MSPs Patrick Harvie and Alison Johnstone.
If you would like to contact your own MSPs to ask them to support motion S4M-00276, you can do that from the Scottish Parliament website. Enter your postcode, click on each MSP’s name, and then click on Contact details to find their email address and phone number.
