There’s Nowt so Queer as Folk: A Qualitative Study on what it means to be a Gay Man in 2010
My name is Myra Coutts and I am an undergraduate student from the School of Health and Social Sciences at Edinburgh Napier University. As part of my degree course, I am undertaking a research project for my Honours dissertation. The title of my project is: There’s Nowt so Queer as Folk: A Qualitative Study on what it means to be a Gay Man in 2010.
This study will investigate the issues that gay men have to deal with in the 21st Century compared to 1969, the year of the Stonewall Riots in New York, that kick-started the Gay Rights movement. As it is just past the 40th Anniversary it is a timely study on how/if things have changed in the way society relates to gay men and their lifestyle and how gay men relate to society.
I am looking for volunteers to participate in the project. I need four gay men who are over 40 years old.
By taking part you would be contributing to a better understanding to how society deals with different sexual identities.
If you are interested could you please email me at 06015442@napier.ac.uk with any questions that you may have and I will give you more information on the whole interview process.
Thank you for your time.
