James Morton, Scottish Transgender Alliance
James Morton is the Scottish Transgender Alliance Project Coordinator. He is based in Edinburgh within the Equality Network (one of Scotland’s three national LGBT equality organisations). His national post is funded by the Scottish Government Equality Unit to provide the Scottish public and voluntary sectors with training and policy development guidance on transgender equality issues and to work to build the capacity of transgender support groups in Scotland. He is also interested in working collaboratively with academics in Scotland to research transgender issues and can guide researchers on how to avoid causing any accidental offence or distress to transgender people as well as help them to recruit transgender research participants.
