Dr Brian Heaphy, Senior Lecturer in Sociology, University of Manchester
Brian is Senior Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Manchester and the Morgan Centre for the Study of Relationships and Personal Life. Brian has researched and written about living with HIV, same sex relationships and older lesbian, gay and bisexual life in the UK. He is currently conducting research into young same sex couples' relationships and civil partnerships. Most of his research was/is funded by the UK Economic and Social Research Council. Publications include the books Same Sex Intimacies (with Weeks and Donovan) and Late Modernity and Social Change, the report Lesbian and Gay Lives over 50 (with Yip and Thompson), and the articles `Policy Implications of Ageing Sexualities' (with Yip); `Sexualities, Gender and Ageing'; 'Citizenship and Same Sex Relationships' (with Donovan and Weeks).
