What is A Day In Hand?

A Day in Hand is designed to promote equality and respect for people who wish to hold hands with someone of the same gender in public. We hope to raise awareness amongst LGBT & straight communities about the issues faced in all areas of the world by same-sex couples who want to hold their partners’ hand in public. We believe in equality of respect for all. Our most important work involves inspiring the minds of LGBT people themselves, to overcome internalized homophobia and transphobia and increase self-esteem in their communities.

"[A Day In Hand is] the most touching thing I’ve heard of all year" – Stephen Fry

A Day In Hand was voted 3rd Best Gay Organisation in UK and 4th Best Gay Event (Sshh Saturdays) in the 2010 Pink Paper Awards.
